When will You Going to Understand that Texas Hold em Poker is All About Position!
I have been playing poker now for about five years, I’ve wagered cards my entire life starting with games of Gin Rummy for pennies with my Grand Mother, to all of the various types of Brag and basic random games such as Go Fish, Crash and one so beautifully called, card on head game. I used to always win, whatever game we were betting and although I liked to call it skill, it was really tough to justify thinking about the randomness of the games we were playing, so I was pleased to accept I was having a prolonged run of luck.
Then came Poker, or more importantly Texas holdem Poker, made popular by a group of Texas card players in the 1960’s and since grown into one of the largest card phenomena ever seen. Poker is totally the new black, it’s ultra cool with a lot of of the world’s leading super stars racing to have their name connected with it. Just a quick flick via the TV channels these days and you’ll be able to not escape from poker, and certainly there is the fabled World Series of Poker, the Holy Grail and Mecca all combined into one for every individual player.
So with all of this new found popularity, with so many Tv shows devoted to poker, and magazine and book shelves loaded up with quality material written by the top minds on poker, when are persons going to learn that this casino game is all about position!?
Perhaps I really should not acquire so worked up about this, after all the more folks who struggle with the subtle tactics and strategies required for winning regularly at Texas holdem, the far better it is for everyone else, proper? I mean, if they cannot be troubled to read all of the available details about why placement is so important, why really should we bother? We need to just be glad there is an additional fish at the table!
It is true, we should not encourage laziness with advice and support. Nevertheless, I liken this to a helpful casino game of football. Naturally the stakes aren’t so good, but when you notice a player struggling, you aid them, provide them a few advice, ultimately showing them a way to enjoy, like and appreciate the casino game as much as you. I am asking all house gamblers to do the same thing with their poker buddies who have not quite got a handle on the subtleties of betting position. Guide them to grow their respect for the casino game. Obviously, do not attempt to try this one in your local gambling den, the sharks won’t appreciate you teaching their lunch how to swim!
