Web Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen enjoyed a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only player to achieve final game in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a big pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest enthusiasts anywhere in the world. While playing online poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus regularly participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very poorly. He waits for a decent hand and then goes all in. I know Hansen is a great poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has no reason to play at the table with the min buy in.

Playing for the minimum takes most of the skill out of deep stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be one of the best players in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amount. I think tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The best poker players in the world could be guys you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen gambling on internet poker on Full Tilt. He usually participates in high stakes omaha/8 and Holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his skills in money games?
