Online poker has become globally celebrated as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years numerous variants on the original poker game have been created, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with chemin de fer than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the dealer instead of each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little concealment or other types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up prior to the croupier declares "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course all of the different gamblers acquire five cards. After you have observed your hand and the bank’s initial card, you need to in turn make a call bet or accede. The call bet’s amount is equal to your beginning ante, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your ante goes instantaneously to the bank. After the wager is the face off. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, with an amount in accordance with the original wager. If the house does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The house pony’s up chips equal to your initial bet and set expectations on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
